I've already confessed that cleaning my shower is at the top of my list of things to cut when I'm short on time. But every one in awhile I notice that the grout isn't exactly as white as it should be. Then I usually go completely nutso and start scrubbing between the tiles with an old toothbrush in an effort to make up for my neglect.
If you have ever scrubbed your shower with a toothbrush (please tell me someone out there has done this besides me??) you know that after a few minutes you arms start to feel like they want to fall off. I always regret starting a task like this the day after I've been to the gym and my arms feel like they want to fall off anyway.
Even though I hate to clean my shower- I know that it needs to be done at least occasionally. So I was super excited to try out this battery powered Household Power Scrubber from Quickie when they asked me if I'd be willing to give it a try and blog about my experience with it.
As soon as it arrived, I donned my fancy new cleaning gloves and got to work. I gave the shower a quick spray with a cleaning spray that I already had on hand, and let the scrubber do all of the hard work. You can't see the bubbles here- but it made some nice foam, and I could see that it was getting lots of the gunk out from between the tiles. (It's kind of hard to take pictures with one hand while cleaning a shower, so you have to take my word for it!)
The end result was a shower that I knew was cleaner than I could have accomplished on my own- and it took me WAY less time than the toothbrush method. Maybe I won't have to avoid this task as much anymore.
So, then I was cleaning up our kitchen, which is one of our noticeable spots that gets plenty of daily love and attention. It's clean, but not so clean that I would eat a stray veggie out of it if I happened to drop one while washing them off. Especially there around the drain- yeah- it's a lil funky. A quick wipe with a dish cloth doesn't change that.
I grabbed my Quickie Household Power Scrubber, swapped out the head for the scour pad, sprayed the sink down with my favorite all purpose cleaner, and gave the sink an effortless scrub.
Literally less than a minute later, my sink was sparkling. Absolutely shining.
Now there's a sink you could eat out of. Yum.
While I was cleaning and watching the little rotating brush polish my sink, I couldn't help but think about going to the dentist. Yes I brush my teeth twice a day (and as long as you don't hook me up to a lie detector, I'll tell you that I floss every day too). And every day my teeth are clean...enough.
But every 6 months when I go to the dentist and they give them a nice polish with their fancy tooth polisher- my teeth are CLEAN. And all day long I run my tongue over them noticing how much smoother they feel than when I do it myself.
I feel like this Quickie Household Power Scrubber is kind of like taking your sink (or shower) to the dentist, except you could do it every day if you wanted. And you can do it even on days when you go to the gym. Double win.
Extra thanks to the folks at Quickie for letting me try it out.
